Dental Hygiene Treatments Sebring, FL

Dental Hygiene Treatments

When you arrive for your first dental cleaning visit, your hygiene provider will review your medical history and take any needed dental xrays. We dental radiographs are recommended at least annually for us to give our most accurate dental diagnoses. A gum check will be conducted by measuring the health of your teeth supporting tissue and bone.

If no inflammation or bone loss is present, you qualify for a healthy mouth cleaning. Dental insurance labels this cleaning as a prophylaxis because it is a preventative cleaning. If bleeding and/or bone loss is noted, you will need more than a preventative cleaning. You will require a cleaning to cure or maintain your gingivitis or periodontal disease.

Gingivitis and periodontitis treatments are offered by our experienced dentists in Sebring.

If the bone is healthy or unharmed by the bacteria causing the inflammation and bleeding, a scaling within gingivitis with be diagnosed by our dentist. Gingivitis is curable with treatment. Frequent recare cleanings and improved homecare will stop the disease from affecting your bone.

If the bone has been affected and there is active bleeding when the gums are checked, unfortunately you have active periodontal disease and are losing the support system for your teeth. If diagnosed and treated early, periodontal disease can be maintained for the remainder of your life without severe consequences. If treatment isn’t completed and homecare isn’t improved, one can lose teeth due to periodontal disease. If diagnosed with active periodontal disease, we offer in office, non-surgical periodontal treatment. This treatment is better known as deep cleanings or to the insurance scaling and root planning.

Our dental hygienists have two priorities to provide the most comfortable dental cleaning possible and to help educate the patients of Circle City Dentists of Sebring on their overall health.

Before any cosmetic treatments can be discussed, like professional teeth whitening, preventive care must be addressed.
